A Brief History of Problem-Solving

Let's just say some of us 
lived in a place and time 
when there weren't any 
tampon-disposing machines 
in bathrooms, nor even running 
water, hand soap, toilet paper.  
Necessity: mostly the mother 
of desperation. And everything 
you've read about flies is true.
How the early bird gets to 
the cleanest stall. In the morning, 
dew on the grass richly adorns
every spiderweb—talk about learning 
how to stretch a scarce resource.
