Reflective

The earth, damp
in patches

The gate post, leaning
into itself

The wind scrapes green
paint off the siding

Patches of darkness,
patches of light

It's hard to see house
numbers from the road

Is it that we don't have 
enough reflective surfaces—

Something to bounce
back the smallest particle of light
