Cousin to the nettle, it thrives
in the window bay balancing thin

spheres of green on each stalk.
Some call it money plant, pancake

plant, trying to train it toward 
augury. What I see is a spray

of miniature umbrellas, all
flared open; a solar system,

all orbits yoked to a maypole
in the center of some heaven.
