Immeasurables

The day after Thanksgiving, skies
finally clear. One by one, we start

bringing our trash and recycling
to the curb. A light wind sifts

more dry leaves on every house
plot, every yard. Neighbors

take out their leafblowers.
I think of the endlessness of

our labors, and the greater
optimism of infinity.
